The fund offers participants a 5-year agreement to deliver a range of environmental measures and has three levels: a Higher Level, primarily for environmentally designated sites and other priority habitats; a Wider Level to deliver benefits across the countryside, outside of environmentally designated areas; a Group Level to support co-operative action by farmers in specific areas such as a river catchment.
CS will pay for more targeted actions relating to specific locations, features and habitats. There will be an extra incentive through CS Plus for land managers to join up across local areas to deliver bigger and better results.
LR will pay for bespoke, longer-term, larger scale projects to enhance the natural environment.
The SFI management payment will aim to cover the management costs and time involved for farmers in participating in SFI.
SFI will pay farmers to adopt and maintain sustainable farming practices that can protect and enhance the natural environment alongside food production, and also support farm productivity (including by improving animal health and welfare, optimising the use of inputs and making better use of natural resources).
The fund aims to improve our natural world, secure a fairer future and strengthen the bonds in communities in the UK. They want to ensure that our natural world is restored and protected and that people benefit from that recovery. Working with others, the fund will contribute to three key impact goals: preserved and improved species health and habitats, clean and healthy freshwater, and sustainable and ethical food.
The fund provides support for sustainable development within the fishing and aquaculture sectors and conservation of the marine environment, alongside growth and jobs in coastal communities. The purpose of the scheme is to provide European Member States with a financial support mechanism to the fisheries, inland waters, aquaculture and maritime sectors.
The fund will offer funding to farmers and land managers in AONBs, National Parks and the Broads. It is not an agri-environment scheme.
Check if a research idea works in practice. If you’ve been researching an idea that could improve farming, you can apply for funding to check if it will work in practice. Projects can last for up to 2 years and should help you decide if it’s worth investing more in the development of a product or service.
The funding is for farmers, growers and foresters to explore ways to bring benefits across the whole farming community. You’ll be able to investigate a problem you know exists to work out what could best be done about it.
