The fund is a competitive scheme that promotes land management practices which protect and enhance Scotland’s magnificent natural heritage, improve water quality, manage flood risk and mitigate and adapt to climate change. AECS also helps to improve public access in rural areas and preserve historic sites.
The award size depends on the specific case as there are both various management and capital payments available. Further details in the Rural Development: Agri-Environment Climate Scheme full guidance 'Funding under this scheme' section.
It is open to farmers, groups of farmers and other land managers with land in Scotland. Further details in the Rural Development: Agri-Environment Climate Scheme full guidance Occupancy of Land section.
