Sustainable Farming Incentive Guidance

Summary

This web page hosts links to details of all the options currently included in the Sustainable Farming Incentive funding scheme for England. Currently, this includes options covering arable soils, improved grassland, low-input grassland, hedgerows, agroforestry, moorland management, integrated pest management, and buffer strips. More options are being added on an ongoing basis.

For each option, there is a link to a web page with the minimum requirements for receiving the payment, e.g. width requirements for grass buffer strips. There are some further optional suggestions for farmers, such as types of grass that could be included in the buffer strips.

Note that while many of the measures funded could be classed as nature-based solutions, there is also provision for actions that include use of agrochemicals, which are not nature-based solutions as they may have adverse impacts on biodiversity.
