Recipe for Engagement

Summary

Effective engagement can bring diverse groups and individuals together to deliver multiple, integrated benefits for nature, people and climate. To help practitioners harness the power of engagement for better governance and decision-making, the Agile Initiative co-designed the Recipe for Engagement (RfE), a flexible guide which can be applied to different types of nature recovery and NbS projects.

The guide shows why engagement is needed, and offers a menu of different types of engagement activity that can be tailored to different projects depending on your goals, capacity and resources. It also includes some basic advice on potential methods of monitoring the socio-economic outcomes of nature-based solutions. The aim is to help foster more collaborative, participatory and democratic solutions for nature recovery and NbS.
