Long-term stewardship in new communities

The TCPA has produced a series of practical online resources to assist those who are planning for long-term stewardship of green urban spaces (such as parks) in their area. The toolkit is designed primarily for local authorities and their private sector delivery partners who are planning for new and renewed communities at scale. However, much of the information and key learning is relevant to anyone considering the role of long-term stewardship in their area.

The toolkit includes a summary of national policy and legislation on stewardship; a list of stewardship organisations and service charges; a set of case studies; a guide on ‘Making Stewardship Happen – A Process Guide for Councils’ and a Briefing note on Securing long-term stewardship through the Development Plan.
